BATON ROUGE, La. (June 11, 2026) — LaSalle Parish continues to gain reliable broadband access across the parish as another expansion project provides reliable, high-speed internet to hundreds of locations.
Delivered by Brightspeed, the nation’s third-largest fiber builder, the expansion brings reliable broadband service to 180 households and 28 businesses, expanding digital infrastructure in areas that previously lacked dependable connectivity. This expansion adds to over 3,000 locations in LaSalle Parish that received access to Brightspeed Fiber Internet, positioning the parish for long-term growth.
“Brightspeed is proud to continue expanding reliable, high-speed fiber internet in LaSalle Parish,” said Brightspeed Government Affairs Principal in Louisiana Kevin Kastor. “The ConnectLA grant helped us augment our planned fiber network build and bring service to more than 200 additional homes and businesses that need dependable connectivity. In total, Brightspeed’s fiber network will reach nearly 3,800 locations across the parish, helping ensure more families, businesses and communities have the broadband infrastructure they need to learn, work, grow and thrive.”
“Louisiana is working diligently to close the digital divide in all communities,” said Gov. Jeff Landry. “This expansion ensures that LaSalle Parish is on track to give rural communities the tools they need to succeed and continue to develop. By expanding reliable broadband access and investing in modern infrastructure, the state aims to ensure that residents in underserved areas have equal access to essential digital resources.”
Local legislators emphasized the impact broadband expansions in rural communities have, especially in previously unserved or underserved areas.
“Expansions like these continue Louisiana’s progress in ensuring that rural communities have the same opportunities as anywhere else in the state,” said state Rep. Gabe Firment. “By continuing to invest in our families and our communities, we are bringing Louisiana closer to full connectivity and ensuring success for all involved.”
“This project is another step toward full connectivity for LaSalle Parish,” said state Sen. Glen Womack. “We hope to continue to see this progress for LaSalle Parish, and with the continued success of projects like these, we are on track to do so in record time.”
Community leaders recognized how improved connectivity can elevate communities, increasing access to essential services and supporting long-term growth in LaSalle Parish and surrounding areas.
“We are proud to administer this project and bring a practical long-term investment opportunity to life in LaSalle Parish,” said Veneeth Iyengar, executive director of ConnectLA. “We work to ensure that infrastructure is in the ground and delivering reliable service to communities as quickly and efficiently as possible, and we are working to ensure that every region in the state has the connectivity needed to develop and thrive.”
