Understanding your bill

If you want to better understand your bill — or if you're trying to answer a specific question — a tour of a Brightspeed bill is an easy way to learn what the terms mean and where important information is located. 

How to read your bill - section 1 image
  1. Account Information – Includes general account information such as your account number, bill date, and bill period.
  2. Bill History – Shows your previous balance and any payments made.
  3. Service Summary – Shows a breakdown of your current and previous month charges for easy comparison.
  4. Due Date/Amount Due – Reflects a color-coded breakdown of the charges listed in the Service Summary, plus date and amount due.
  5. Important Messages – Special notes, including tips and reminders.
  6. Payment Remittance – when paying by mail, detach and enclose with your payment.

  1. Changes to Your Services – on the back of page 1 you’ll find an explanation of any changes to your service since your last bill.
  2. Important Messages – check here for any bill messages about your services and your account.

  1. Summary of discounts – reflects your total discounts for the month, if applicable.
  2. Details – all services and charges, including any usage, are listed in this section, along with total due and due date.
  3. Alerts – Special notes, including promotional information, reminders, and account status.
