As a Brightspeed telephone tariffed voice services customer, your telephone number, address and name are included in our white pages directory listings. Customers can choose how they want their phone directory listings to appear. The directory listing information appears the same on caller ID.
If you have a nonlisted or nonpublished telephone number, your information will not appear in the white page’s directories. If you want to have your information removed from the white pages, please follow the process below to obtain a nonlisted or nonpublished number.
As part of your Brightspeed tariffed voice telephone service, your name (last, first, middle), street address and telephone number are included in the white page’s directories by default.
Customers can make changes to the default listing. Customers can:
When you initially sign up for Brightspeed telephone service, there is no charge to customize your directory listing. However, if you decide to make changes at a later time, there is a one-time fee that varies by location.
Customers who want to be removed from the white pages but still want their number to be available through Directory Assistance can request a nonlisted number. With this type of listing, your name, address and phone number will not be in the white pages directory.
There is a one-time setup charge and monthly fee, varying by location.
Customers choosing a more complete restriction of their telephone contact information should consider a private listing. With a nonpublished listing, your name, address, and phone number are not included in the white pages, and they are also not available through Directory Assistance.
There is a one-time setup charge and monthly fee for this type of listing.
Even with a nonpublished listing, your contact information may be shared to:
Note: Be aware that nonlisted and nonpublished numbers may not entirely remove your contact information from online white pages directories. If your phone number has not been nonlisted or nonpublished, that information could still be available through online white pages directories.
Did you know? Even if you have a nonpublished listing, your name and number will still show up on Caller ID. To block Caller ID from displaying your information, dial *67 before placing your call. For that call, the recipient’s Caller ID will not show your information. This service is called "per call blocking." It's available anytime, and there's no charge to use it. If you don't want your number to show up at all, ask us about permanent line blocking.
