New Jersey Abandoned Lines Notice

New Jersey’s abandoned line law (§ 48:3-122) gives customers and property owners the right to request the removal of attached, above-ground telecommunications lines that they suspect to be abandoned, meaning that the line is not being used or the line is not in a safe condition. If you suspect that an above-ground line owned by Brightspeed may be abandoned, you may notify Brightspeed by sending an email to the following address: New-Jersey-Lines@brightspeed.com. To submit a notification, the law indicates that you should provide the pole number, address, latitude and longitude of the pole, and a photograph of the line you are reporting. To the extent the suspected abandoned line is owned by Brightspeed, the Company will investigate the notification within 30 days of your submission and address any need for action within 60 days of your submission. If Brightspeed determines that the line is abandoned, the Company will either return the line to a safe condition or remove the line.
