IP compatibility:  IPv4, IPv6

Works with these Brightspeed internet services:

  • ADSL – up to 7 Mbps
  • ADSL2 – up to 20 Mbps
  • VDSL – up to 40 Mbps

Note: Listed speeds reflect the maximum download speed the technology can deliver on Brightspeed services. In-home speeds may differ based on router setup, devices and other factors.

Modem troubleshooting tips

IMPORTANT NOTE: The C1000Z modem requires a two-step firmware upgrade.
 

  1. Restore the C1000Z to factory defaults via the GUI or reset button
  2. Reconfigure the PPP credentials and wireless settings
  3. Upgrade to the stepping firmware (click to download)
  4. Upgrade to the fully updated firmware (click to download)

Tip: If the firmware link doesn't work, try another browser (Chrome is known to have issues with this kind of link). Or, right-click the link, select "copy link address", then paste the link into a new browser tab.

Quick setup

Manual network (WAN) setup

If instructed to do so by a technician, you may have to manually change the WAN settings on your modem. Visit the WAN setup page for step-by-step instructions on different WAN configurations, including PPPoE, IPoE and transparent bridging.

You can control your WiFi network by visiting your modem’s wireless settings area. Click on the options below for details and step-by-step instructions.

The modem status area in the user interface allows you to view several options and check the performance of your modem.
